Course Outline

This course will enable the learner to develop key skills in accounting, marketing, human resources and management. Modules in Enterprise and Team leadership give the student the skills and knowledge required to work as an effective leader and member of a team, focusing on leadership, management, teamwork and communication skills.

Fees

€175 GCC Student Services Fee applies to all learners

€80 QQI Certification Fee applies to all learners except

  • Those in receipt of Back to Education Allowance.
  • Medical Card Holders (valid at time of Registration).

Work Experience

Work experience takes place one day per week throughout the academic year in areas of accounting, marketing, human resources and management.


Special Features

Regular speakers from Galway Businesses in the areas of Accountancy, Marketing, and human resources. Students will avail of the most up to date software both for Windows and Mac.

Students who successfully complete this course can apply to go directly into the second year of a Business/IT course in GMIT.


Entry Requirements

Suitable candidates must have obtained a relevant QQI Level 5 Award or equivalent to be eligible for this course.


Progression

By completing a PLC/FE course, students can achieve up to 390 CAO points and gain access to 3rd Level courses in universities and institutes of technology nationwide by applying through the CAO system.
